Bob Revere (Marshall Teague), a small-town war hero, is heartbroken when his own son Tom loses his life defending America. Tom left behind a son of his own named Christian, and 14 years later, the young boy and his mother move back to the small town to be with their family for the holidays. Christian disconnects with his grandfather Bob, as they both are going through the pain of losing a dad and losing a son. When Christian is threatened with school suspension for bringing his bible to school, Bob notices that his country is headed in a dangerous direction and that freedom itself is on the line. Encouraged by his grandson Christian, who asks “what did his father die for?”, Bob finally takes a stand for his beliefs and finds himself jailed for putting up the town’s Christmas tree and refusing to take it down. In this beautiful story of love and forgiveness, they discover a way to unite and to make a difference in their community by claiming their freedom and standing up for their rights.

    DOVE WORLDVIEW:
This movie is about freedom! It is right on target as it deals with today's world, a world which tells Christians to remove Nativity scenes and religious symbols and to never say, "Merry Christmas" but only to say, "Happy Holidays." This film just might inspire you to remember that our forefathers came to this land to have freedom of religion, not freedom "from" religion.

A young man named Tom dies in the war and his father, Bob, himself a war hero, loses heart and stops fighting for what he once believed. Tom's widow and infant son move away. Years later when they return for a visit, with Bob's grandson Christian now fourteen years old, Christian reminds Bob of the need to stand for what he believes. Bob is now mayor of Mt. Columbus, and he wants it to become known as "Christmas City." Bob has plenty of opposition from various political figures but he is determined to make sure that his son did not die in vain, but that he will enjoy the religious freedoms he had a part in fighting for.

This inspirational movie is well done and has plenty to say about the rights we have as a nation. Watch this one with a family member or friend and remember, someone died for our freedom. This one gets our Dove Seal for sure!
